Cut-Out Cookies
3/4 C shortening
1 C sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Mix butter, sugar, eggs and extract. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Blend into sugar/egg mixture. Chill at least 1 hour.
Roll dough to 1/8 in thick. Using shaped cutters, cut out and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 6-8 minutes.
Cookie Icing
1 lb powdered sugar
1/2 C shortening
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C water
food coloring
Combine all ingredients and beat until creamy. Seperate into individual bowls and color with food coloring for different colors
Random Thought: If you're too old to party like a rock star, try singing like one. If it embarrasses your teenagers when their friends are over. BONUS POINTS!
