Homemade Cracker Jacks
Yield: 4 quarts
1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. organic sugar
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. molasses
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. each walnuts, almonds, pecans, peanuts
8 c. popped popcorn
Mix first 5 ingredients in a heavy sauce pan. Bring to a boil and simmer until it reaches 260 F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and nuts. Pour over popcorn and stir gently to coat evenly. Cool on oiled baking sheet. Separate into clusters.
